"El umbral insalvable" es un homenaje a lo moderno como discurso y como construcción fragmentaria. El color, la línea y la palabra - que estructuran el contenido del poemario- son todos ellos lenguajes imposibles por los que transitan retazos de esa modernidad, agotada pero vibrante (la de los primeros años del siglo XX), en tensión permanente entre la voluntad de lo expresivo y los límites de lo decible.   "El umbral insalvable" es, a su vez, un tributo a la obra del pintor Egon Schiele (1890-1918), creación en la que parecen brillar las últimas posibilidades de lo figurativo - y de lo sensual- y, en sentido más amplio, a la Viena de 1900 como cumbre reflexiva de esa modernidad tardía que excede el ámbito del arte y se muestra en todas las dimensiones de su cultura.
