Siguiendo la línea de documentos papales, que desde 2013 viene publicando Ediciones UC en conjunto a la Dirección de Pastoral y Cultura Cristiana, la Pontificia Universidad Católica y la Conferencia Episcopal de Chile presentan “El Magisterio de la vida”.
Se trata de una compilación que reúne las encíclicas Humana evitae y Evangelium vitae, que incluye además una breve presentación del rectorde la UC, doctor Ignacio Sánchez.
Humana evitae, publicada en 1968 por el Papa Pablo VI, aborda situaciones referidas a la transmisión de la vida y el problema de la natalidad. Por su parte, Evangelium vitae,escrita por San Juan Pablo II hace veinte años, versa sobre una defensa a la vida humana en todos sus aspectos, confirmando el valor intrínseco e inviolable de ésta.
