Michaux escribió, viajó, dibujó, pintó. Escribió como se odia, con la fuerza del «contra» para sobrevivir y, después, para vivir más intensamente, para vibrar más alto. Pero hallo la escritura demasiado convencional, henchida la palabra con demasiada cultura, demasiado lastre, así que empezó a pintar. Pintó para «descondicionarse».
