También hay quien afirma que la duración del embarazo se irá reduciendo conforme mejore la tecnología de los úteros artificiales y que, cuestión de tiempo, la vida humana se concebirá y desarrollará sin que la estancia uterina sea condición sine qua non. Tal vez haya que empezar a reflexionar acerca de cómo estamos criando a los humanos del futuro empezando por cómo los concebimos y gestamos. El embarazo, el fabuloso proceso de gestar, requiere una mirada amplia en la que necesariamente debemos tener en cuenta varias perspectivas: la de la madre que gesta, la del ser humano que se está gestando, y la de la familia y la comunidad que los acompaña y espera.
