Democracy is an illusion according to the writer's critique. The questions remain - we are not or will we ever be a British overseas territory? Will we succumb to what the Argentine Falkland Islands have become through globalization - British? We have become a "suburb of London" and the Wall Street bankers have taken a script right out of the Queen's playbook.
