Habría sido más largo y menos legible de haber estado lleno de respuestas, distinciones y objeciones anticipadas. Pero, como señaló un lector anónimo de la Harvard University Press, no advertir la existencia de una gran variedad de teorías destacadas en los distintos campos abordados por el libro implicaría debilitar el argumento.
