La hija muy joven de un industrial berlines, aunque prometida en Berlin a uno de los empleados de la empresa de su padre, se casa contra su propria voluntad con un terrateniente brasileno, familiar lejano de su padre y emigrado a Brasil, Manaus. Sus territorios producen un material muy valioso a finales del siglo XIX, el caucho, una materia prima que el padre de Amely, nuestra protagonista, necesitara para la produccion de las ruedas de lo que sera su gran proyecto vital, la construccion de automoviles. En sus planes Amely figura, desde el principio, nada mas que como moneda de cambio para pagarle a su socio. Como tal, Amely viaja a a Manaus en una caja de oro, a bordo de un barco de lujo. / The very young daughter of a Berlin industrialist although promised to marry one of the employees of her fathers company, is promised against her will to marry a Brazilian rancher, a distant relative of her father that had migrated to Manaus, Brazil. His territories produced a very valuable material in the late nineteenth century, rubber, raw material that the father of Amely, our main character, will need to produce tires that will be vital in his great project, building cars. In his plans Amely serves from the beginning, nothing more than a bargain coin to pay your partner. As such, Amely travels to Manaus in a gold box, on board a luxury yacht.
