El proyecto fotográfico de Urquieta rescata los vestigios de esta vía ferroviaria, fundada por Henry Meiggs en 1863, que recorría el tramo entre Valparaíso y Santiago y que hoy se encuentra abandonada. Como una forma de rescatarla y también de protestar por abandono l fotógrafo villalemanino recolectó lo que queda de esta vía en esta serie de fotografías.
