Synopsis "Las Bellas Artes Reducidas a un Principio Unico (in Spanish)"

Con ‘Las Bellas Artes reducidas a un único principio’ (1764), Charles Batteux se convierte en el autor de una obra que, en plena Ilustración, se propuso estructurar sistemáticamente los dominios de la cultura artística. Diferenció los sectores artísticos (las seis artes troncales), postulando un principio común (la mímesis de la belleza natural). Enfatizó las relaciones de finalidad propias de las propuestas artísticas (placer vs utilidad). Matizó entre el valor patrimonial y su estimación, entre el gusto y el genio, entre la naturaleza y su representación optimizadora. El abate Batteux incluyó, a su vez, el contenido de este texto en otras publicaciones suyas –tratando de aplicar esos principios sistemáticos–, como ocurrió en el ‘Cours de Belles Lettres’ (1753), recogido asimismo en ‘Principes de la Littérature’ (1774). Una estrategia difusora que históricamente fue eficaz.
