El presente texto docente va dirigido a los estudiantes que cursen el Grado de Derecho, con la intención de hacerles accesible el sistema institucional y jurídico comunitario desde los inicios de su carrera universitaria.  Lecciones de Derecho Comunitario Europeo pretende ser, desde este punto de vista, una aproximación sencilla, aunque bien documentada y actualizada, al sistema institucional y jurídico de la Unión Europea. Se trata de facilitar a los estudiantes un texto que, manteniendo el nivel de exigencia universitaria, no vaya más allá de la función docente de introducirlos en el conocimiento general de las instituciones y del derecho de la Unión Europea. Asimismo, el texto se propone, en la medida de lo posible, estimular una futura profundización en estudios europeos más específicos facilitándoles las fuentes de conocimiento necesarias.
