Los zapatos de Murano (Premio Lazarillo de Literatura 1996) retrata la Venecia de finales del siglo XII, cuando el auge del comercio con Oriente llenaba de especias, de esclavos y de metales las brumosas calles de esta noble ciudad. Su amor por ella hizo que ingeniara un astuto plan para rescatarla del avaro turco que la retenía. Años después, el nacimiento de su hija Angélica desencadenÛ fuertes intrigas familiares y la historia adquiriÛ entonces un trepidante ritmo: largos viajes a Oriente, conquistas y cruzadas, celos, amores afortunados y de conveniencia... A su vez, Angélica quiso evitar convertirse, para su primer amado, en un reflejo de la misteriosa historia del hada Melusina y el señor de Lusignan.
