Mãn has learned to grow up without dreaming and to live without needing hardly anything. But in the kitchen, when she reworks the simple recipes of her childhood, her emotions are unleashed. Tomato juice reminds her of the suffering in her village, a dessert showing the divide in culture, and cutting peppers says a lot about the art of seduction.
