This publication documents the historic introduction of Spanish lace in Paraguay by colonial women settlers and traces the evolutionary process of the creation of Ñandutí, the singular spider web lace of Paraguay. It also describes the technique for making Ñandutí, validates its cultural and economic impact, and includes an extensive catalog of one hundred and sixty four original designs as well as well as illustrations of finished pieces.
