Julio Ramon Ribeyro (Lima, Peru, 1929-1994), novelista, dramaturgo y, sobre todo, referencia obligada del cuento latinoamericano, es uno de los grandes nombres de la literatura peruana. Autor de Los gallinazos sin plumas y Cuentos de circunstancias entre muchos otros, acuno un humor de extremos que se sintetizo en una ironia muy propia. Su vida en Peru, su autoexilio y sus relatos develan un escritor a veces melancolico, otras socarron, que exploro como pocos el mundo marginal, ese universo habitado por personajes ""solitarios hallados en bulevares perifericos de la vida"", como escribio el autor espanol Enrique Vila-Matas. Asimismo, su pasion por los diarios intimos, y los suyos propios para muchos su obra maestra, dejan ver a un ser libre y profundo que hizo del registro y la reflexion sobre la enfermedad, lo cotidiano y las dificultades de la creacion literaria una obra monumental.
