Synopsis "Rock: a football novel"
In Book Three of the Juddville Jaguars football series, the Jaguars are preparing for their intense rivalry game vs. the Billington Bulldogs. The preparation for the big game is hampered by off the field issues. Coach Abraham's family is still suffering from the aftermath of his daughter Julia's sexual assault. The Coach is all alone as Julia has moved to New York to live with her sister, and his wife left home to see her sister for an extended visit. Team captain, Pete O'Connor's family is expecting news regarding his incarcerated father that has the potential to ignite the entire town of Billington where his team is heading on Friday night. Pete's mom knows the potential damage the news could have on her son, so she keeps the news of his father's parole hearing to herself. Even though Pete's budding relationship with Amber was an obvious distraction in Juddville's first game of the season, he is unwilling to let her go even though her past presents some challenges. Meanwhile, Assistant Coach Allen continues to struggle with controlling his anger. The status of his sophomore runningback Mike Owens for this week's game is just one pressure cooker affecting Juddville's offense. Quarterback/defensive back Roger Collins is sitting out the final week of his suspension. Will he be able to steer clear of further trouble, overcome his authority issues, and become a contributing member of the team? Will the Jaguars be able to overcome the hurdles along the way to keep their win streak intact? Lessons of faith, friendship, perseverance, and teamwork come to play in this hardcore football novel.
