Synopsis "Sevilla: Ciudad y Mujer en la Poesía de Joao Cabral de Melo Neto (in Portugués, Español)"

João Cabral de Melo Neto fue un poeta y diplomático brasileño cercano a la Generación del 45 brasileña. Para hacerse una idea de la calidad literaria de este poeta, basta con decir que fue galardonado con el Premio Camões en 1990 y con el Premio Reina Sofía de Poesía Iberoamericana en 1994. En su labor como diplomático, este escritor vivió durante varios años en Sevilla y, como buen poeta, se acabó enamorando de la vieja Híspalis. Fruto de este idilio, aparte de escribir poemas referentes a la ciudad en toda su obra, sus dos últimos libros tienen como clara referencia la ciudad de Sevilla: “Crime na calle Relator” (Crimen en la calle Relator) y “Sevilha andando”. Por ello, en esta obra se hace un recorrido por su poesía observando las diferentes temáticas que aborda, haciendo especial hincapié en los poemas que ofrece sobre Sevilla. Se observa así como una poesía varonil, repleta de hermetismo y sequedad, se vuelve apasionada, fértil y femenina al perderse por el embrujo de Sevilla. No en vano, este poeta pretendía “Sevilhizar o mundo”.
