Estos Sonetos a los Santos nacieron, porque siempre nacen de alguna manera, fue hacia 1988, gracias a que mi hermano, conocedor de mi estilo, me animaba a concursar en el Premio de Poesía Mística Fernando Rielo o al Premio de Poesía Religiosa de San Lesmes, Burgos, de aquí nacieron estos sonetos e ilustraciones, documentándome en libros antiquísimos, de la primera mitad del siglo pasado y más. Así cogieron el cauce estos sonetos, yo me dejé llevar y fui el primer sorprendido de lo que iba saliendo. Me di cuenta de que los Santos bien merecen un soneto.
