El teatro ha hecho escuela con este concepto, desarrollando a partir de esta suerte de metanarrativa teatral verdaderas obras de arte que reflexionan sobre la lógica del escenario, qué impulsa una obra, qué pone en movimiento una trama, qué hace que un actor se vuelva un personaje y -más allá aún- que hace a un personaje ser ese personaje en cuestión.
