They clash with a system that has its own priority list where healthcare workers like Peter and Charlie come last. Politics and healthcare clash in a world that is largely unknown to the uninitiated. Charlie learns about suicide amongst healthcare workers before he even graduates from medical school while Peter fights his non-imaginary enemies. As their paths keep crossing, the two young surgeons grow older but no wiser. Their utopic approach to healthcare is not reciprocated or appreciated by those who control the system. The two unrealistically optimistic surgeons clash with the system... then sadly with each other. Will the system succeed in destroying the bond they have and once thought was unbreakable? The clinical stories in this book are not fictitious. They were all inspired by real life events which were modified for the purpose of writing the book. In all cases, the names and often the gender of real people who have been involved in the real life events, were changed and so were the dates, the towns, the states and, sometimes, the countries.
