When Gwyar ferch Onbrawst a Meurig of South Wales happened upon the Queen betraying her brother by her own son, Mordred, she fled Caerleon for the vast wood of Broceliande, there to spend long years punishing unfaithful men, luring lovers untrue to her lair and trapping them in a tower of skulls, none to escape her judgement. But before she was tangled in the web of family sorrows, forbidden affairs, statecraft, and the politics of kingmaking and survival during and after the Saxon Wars, Gwyar had another life, other sons, and other rivals.
