Jeronimo de Carranza wrote his treatise "The Philosophy of Arms". This is a humanistic dialogue dedicated to the presentation of a new art of fencing, called La Verdadera Destreza. This new form of fencing, elevating the activity into an art and a science, revolutionized the spanish fencing school. After him, it was Luis Pacheco de Narváez, which expanded upon Carranza's concepts. Alberto Bomprezzi has been investigating and practicing Verdadera Destreza since 2002. Part of his reseach is in this introductory text, aimed to novice and seasoned Destreza students.
