The photograph takes Peri back to Oxford University, as an eighteen-year-old sent abroad for the first time: to her dazzling, rebellious professor and his life-changing course on God, to her home with her two best friends, Shirin and Mona, and their arguments about Islam and femininity and, finally, to the scandal that tore them all apart.

Doctorada en Ciencias Políticas y en Humanidades, ha sido profesora en varias universidades internacionales, entre ellas la de Oxford, de la que es miembro honorífico. Gran defensora de los derechos de la mujer y LGBTQ+ y la libertad de expresión, fue cofundadora del Consejo Europeo de Relaciones Exteriores y colabora con publicaciones en toda Europa. Ha recibido la medalla Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, y en 2017 Politico la eligió como una de las doce personas «que os llenarán el corazón de una muy necesitada alegría». En 2021 fue una las cien mujeres más inspiradoras e influyentes según la BBC, es vicepresidenta de la Real Sociedad de Literatura del Reino Unido y ha sido jurado de numerosos premios literarios, incluido el PEN Nabokov. Ganadora del Premio Internacional de Literatura Halldór Laxness, su obra ha sido traducida a cincuenta y cinco lenguas.

El libro llegó el día 7 un día después de lo prometido. Muy conforme con su entrega porque lo pude recibir yo y no tuve que buscarlo en el correo. No lo lei todavia porque es para un taller que voy a hacer el año que viene. La encuadernación es muy buena y muy cómoda para leer. El precio exhorbitante pero no lo podia conseguir acá en Bs As- Muchas gracias .
