También tenía otro título: Trimalción (Fitzgerald quería que su novela fuera el equivalente norteamericano del Ulises de Joyce). La leyenda dice que El gran Gastby se convirtió en una novela perfecta luego de pasar por las manos santas de Maxwell Perkins, su editor. Pero en Trimalción se puede ver a Gatsby tal como lo veía Fitzgerald: más crudo, más épico, más noble, más estúpido. Sólo por eso vale la pena sumergirse de cabeza en este libro.
