Synopsis "Two Brides for Ewan de Buchan (Highland Crusaders) (Volume 1)"

The Third Crusade is failing, and Ewan de Buchan has been left for dead in Jerusalem. When he awakens to a veiled woman tending his injuries, he’s forbidden from looking at her. But her expert skills intrigue him, and when she performs a life-saving surgery upon him, he senses there’s much more to her than meets the eye. Nasim has just been betrothed when she’s summoned to save the life of an infidel in the absence of the master healer. Her physician skills are put to the test, but she never expects her prejudices about Jerusalem’s invaders to be put to the test, too. The Scotsman lacks understanding of her culture, but she senses no malice in him. And though language hinders them, he’s impressed by her training—training she might have to abandon when she marries. Curiosity burgeons between them, and Nasim defies societal customs by sneaking out to meet Ewan alone. When they’re caught, the scandal forces them to wed, resulting in their banishment. However, Ewan is already betrothed to a lady in Scotland. Once the lady learns that Ewan lives, she demands that her betrothal to him be upheld, claiming his marriage to Nasim is invalid. But Ewan and Nasim have forged a bond during their journey. And in the face of his fiancée’s mounting legal battle, Nasim realizes that the prejudice Ewan faced in Jerusalem is the same prejudice she faces now as Ewan fights to legitimize their marriage before he’s forced to wed another.
