Synopsis "Viaje a una Guerra (in Spanish)"

En enero de 1938, cargados como dos turistas con sus respectivas cámaras de fotos, dos amigos, W. H. Auden y Christopher Isherwood partieron de la estación Victoria de Londres con destino a China, para recabar información con la que escribir un libro sobre la guerra chino-japonesa. Era la primera vez que ambos escritores cruzaban el canal de Suez, no hablaban una palabra de chino y mantenían una absoluta ignorancia sobre lo que allí ocurría. El resultado de aquella aventura fue este maravilloso libro, en el cual Isherwood se ocupa de redactar el diario del viaje, mientras que su amigo el poeta Auden aporta un sorprendente poemario en el que se incluyen veintisiete sonetos y un largo poema, además de una dedicatoria en verso a E. M. Forster, el famoso autor de Pasaje a la India. El volumen incluye además numerosas fotografías tomadas en el frente por ambos amigos. Es la primera vez que esta obra se traduce al español.
