Van Gogh pintaba a los campesinos, a la tierra y sus frutos; primero en tonos oscuros y después, en Arlés, con colores vivos, brillantes y pinceladas gruesas. La inquietante presencia de los cuervos en sus cuadros y su cabeza fueron el augurio de un dramático final, una bala perdida que acabó con su vida en 1890."
