Nicolás Ajzenman
Nicolás Ajzenman is an Argentine economist specialized in behavioral economics, political economy, and economic development. He studied Economics at the University of Buenos Aires, earned a master's degree in Economics at the University of San Andrés, a master's degree in Public Administration and International Development at Harvard University, and a PhD in Economics at Sciences Po, Paris. He is currently a professor and researcher in the Department of Economics at McGill University in Montreal and affiliated with the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL)

His research focuses on how cognitive biases, interpersonal trust, and social norms affect economic and political decisions. He has shown that corrupt governments can encourage dishonest behaviors among citizens, and that political polarization can have negative effects on economic growth and social cohesion

In addition to his academic work, Ajzenman advises governments and international organizations, and is known for his scientific dissemination. He is the author of the book The Science of Details (2024), co-written with Florencia López Boo, which explores how small details can influence our everyday decisions and social well-being
