Begoña Oro was born in Zaragoza. Over a million children have started reading with her books, such as Ensalada de letras or La pandilla de la ardilla and have wanted to continue reading with her Misterios a domicilio, Los superhéroes de los miércoles or Monsterchef. Her characters Rasi the squirrel, Troti, and El dragón de las letras are especially well-known.
She is also the author of poetry books and numerous books for pre-readers, like 'Tres monstruos en el baño' or 'Cuentos bonitos para quedarse fritos'.
She is also a young adult novelist, with works like 'Pomelo y limón', winner of the Gran Angular Award 2011 and Hache Award 2012, 'Croquetas y wasaps', 'Tú tan cáncer y yo tan virgo', co-written with the scientist Alberto J. Schuhmacher, which received the Jaén Award, and 'Amor & Hate', written with Belén Gopegui, Nando López, and Roberto Santiago.
She has received the Artes y Letras Award and the Lazarillo Award for illustrated album for Un fuego rojo, alongside Paloma Corral.
