Philippe Collin
Philippe Collin is a journalist, radio producer, and French writer, known for his original approach to historical dissemination. Graduated in History, he has produced successful podcasts on France Inter about figures such as Napoleon, Simone de Beauvoir, and Léon Blum. In 2024, he debuted as a novelist with The Bartender of the Ritz (Le Barman du Ritz), a work that combines real facts and fiction to portray the life of Frank Meier, the legendary bartender at the Hotel Ritz in Paris during the Nazi occupation. This book, which has sold over 300,000 copies in France and will be adapted into a film, earned him the Maurice Druon Award for historical novel in 2024

In addition to his novel, Collin has published the essays The Ghost of Philippe Pétain (Le Fantôme de Philippe Pétain, 2022) and Léon Blum, a Heroic Life (Léon Blum, une vie héroïque, 2023), as well as the graphic novels The Journey of Marcel Grob (Le Voyage de Marcel Grob, 2018) and The Homeland of the Werner Brothers (La Patrie des frères Werner, 2022), both in collaboration with illustrator Sébastien Goethals. His work falls within the genre of historical narrative, standing out for its documentary rigor and ability to humanize complex episodes from the past.
