Magdalena Defaz (Guayaquil, 1972) is an Ecuadorian writer and jurist who has lived in France for much of her life. She grew up in Babahoyo and studied Law in Ecuador and France. After a career in the business sector, she decided to shift towards social work, collaborating as a volunteer jurist in French associations fighting against social exclusion. Since her childhood, she has been linked to writing, sharing stories with her close circle, reflecting her passion for narrative.

In 2025, she published her first novel, Casa de Pueblo Largo y Río, a contemporary fiction work that addresses themes such as memory, family, and exile.
