Raúl Courel (Buenos Aires, 1946) is a distinguished psychoanalyst, university professor, and Argentine researcher. He earned his psychology degree at the National University of Tucumán and revalidated it at the Universidade Federal da Bahia, Brazil. He obtained his doctorate from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) with a thesis on psychoanalysis in Western civilization. Since 1983, he has practiced psychoanalysis in Buenos Aires and has been a key figure in academic training in psychology in Argentina. He was dean of the Faculty of Psychology at UBA from 1994 to 2002 and has been a Consulting Professor at the same institution since 2017.
His work includes more than 200 articles on psychoanalysis, psychology, education, and culture. Courel has been a founding member of institutions such as the Psychoanalytic Studies Center of Tucumán and the Analytical Society of Buenos Aires, and has actively participated in congresses and academic projects in Latin America.
