ALEJANDRO BERCOVICH first stepped into a bank vault the same year he encountered a steel mill, an oil well, an automotive terminal, and his first logistics and distribution center. Convertibility was melting away and the outbreak of popular rage in December 2001 was beginning to be felt, but the author was peeking, as an aspiring Télam reporter, into the productive power of a country that was not yet resigned to underdevelopment.
That same pivotal year, he began to converse with businessmen and noticed how their decisions influenced the lives of thousands of compatriots. He was already studying Economics at the University of Buenos Aires but in those talks, he realized they also reasoned in political terms. Thus, he entered the little world of economic power that would fascinate him for the next two and a half decades of his journalistic career in media such as El Cronista, Página/12, Crítica de la Argentina, Buenos Aires Económico, ElDiarioAR, C5N, Metro, Rock&Pop, and Radio Con Vos.
