Booby W. Austin
Bobby William Austin (born December 29, 1944) is an American sociologist, lecturer, and writer. He is a prominent researcher on African American men and boys and was the first person, as a Program Officer at the WK Kellogg Foundation, to fund significant philanthropic initiatives for African American men and boys. Over the past 30 years, in the fields of education, social policy, youth development, cultural theory, philanthropy, and religion, he has created a series of structured spaces as avenues for citizens to live life in communities as individuals and as members of groups where peace, meaning, and innovation are fostered. He is currently the president of Neighborhood Associates Corporation and managing director of EducationThinkTank.
